Introduction & acceptance
These Terms of Service govern your use of StekVPN, operated by Websorcery (Bachlaan 68, 3906 ZL Veenendaal, the Netherlands). By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms in full.
If you do not agree, please uninstall the app and stop using the service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
The service
StekVPN is a free VPN application that establishes an encrypted WireGuard tunnel between your device and our server, masking your public IP address. The service includes:
- Encrypted VPN connectivity via the WireGuard protocol.
- IP address masking — your traffic exits through our server's IP.
- No account registration required — the app works immediately after install.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use StekVPN. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 16, you may not use the service. We reserve the right to terminate access for users we determine to be under the minimum age.
Acceptable use
StekVPN is provided for lawful personal use only. You may use the service to protect your internet connection on public Wi-Fi, to access the internet privately, and for any other legitimate purpose that complies with applicable law. You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the service without written permission from Websorcery.
Prohibited activities
The following uses of StekVPN are strictly forbidden:
- Illegal activities. Using the VPN to facilitate any activity that violates applicable local, national, or international law, including but not limited to fraud, money laundering, or the distribution of illegal content.
- Attacks on systems. Using the VPN to conduct port scans, DDoS attacks, brute-force attempts, network intrusion, or any other form of attack against third-party systems or infrastructure.
- Spam & phishing. Using the VPN to send unsolicited bulk messages, operate botnets, conduct phishing campaigns, or distribute malware.
- Copyright infringement. Using the VPN to download, upload, or distribute content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights, including torrenting of copyrighted material without authorisation.
- Abuse of the service. Any activity that places unreasonable load on our infrastructure, circumvents security measures, or interferes with other users' access to the service.
Violation of these rules may result in immediate termination of your VPN profile without notice. We cooperate with law enforcement authorities when legally required to do so.
Intellectual property
StekVPN and all associated software, designs, and trademarks are the property of Websorcery. Nothing in these terms grants you any ownership rights in the app or service.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on your personal device for personal, non-commercial purposes only. This licence terminates automatically if you breach these terms.
Disclaimer of warranties
StekVPN is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Websorcery expressly disclaims all warranties, including:
- That the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
- That the service will meet your specific requirements or expectations.
- That using StekVPN will make you anonymous or immune from all forms of network monitoring.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law, including any conformity rights under applicable digital content legislation.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law, Websorcery is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use StekVPN — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of privacy, or business interruption.
To the maximum extent permitted by mandatory applicable law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from your use of StekVPN is limited to €100. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence, (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or (c) any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Dutch mandatory consumer protection law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Websorcery from and against any third-party claims, damages, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your violation of the Prohibited Activities section or your breach of these terms.
Termination
You may stop using StekVPN at any time by deleting the app. However, uninstalling the app does not automatically remove your VPN profile or data from our server — we have no way of detecting an uninstall. To request deletion of your profile and all associated connection data, email info@websorcery.nl.
Websorcery may suspend or terminate your VPN profile at any time, with or without notice, if we determine that you have violated these terms, if continued operation of your profile poses a security or legal risk, or if we discontinue the service entirely.
Governing law & disputes
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Without prejudice to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country of residence, disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also make use of the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the version number and date at the top of this page and show a notice inside the app on next launch. Continued use of StekVPN after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a competent court, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
